We are pleased to announce that Jim Travers has been promoted to president of Air Purchases, Inc. In this role, Jim will continue to oversee the company’s day to day sales and business operations. Former president Rob Engel will assume the role of chief executive officer and will continue to work closely with Jim on the company’s long-term business goals.
Jim’s career in the HVAC industry spans nearly 40 years. He joined Air Purchases as a sheet metal fabricator in 1990 from Falite Brothers where he was a shop foreman for six years. In 1992, he transitioned over to our sales team as a territory manager, where he consistently led the team in sales and earned the Salesman of the Year award. In 2006, he was promoted to sales manager for Trane products, and in 2010 to sales manager for all of the company’s product lines. In this role Jim developed a successful team of territory managers, several of whom went on to earn prestigious national sales awards. He was named vice president of Air Purchases in 2016.
